Permanent recognition of service, leadership, combat participation, recruiting, instruction, and contribution to the battalion.
SECTION I • BATTALION RIBBON REGISTER
AUTHORIZED RIBBONS
Each ribbon uses the same authoritative requirement anywhere it appears on the website. Automatic progression is calculated from filed service; Command awards require a Headquarters action.
VERIFIEDWEBSITE AWARD CATALOGNo requirement is inferred when its source record is missing.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 10
Instructor Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes Soldiers who contribute directly to the training and development of battalion personnel by serving as instructors during organized training periods.
HOW EARNED
Complete 5 official training periods while serving as a filed Instructor or Assistant Instructor. Training credit must be recorded through the battalion Training system after the event is completed. Informal coaching or unrecorded sessions do not count toward the requirement.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 20
NCO Leadership Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes sustained battlefield leadership demonstrated through repeated completed games and verified time serving in command roles.
HOW EARNED
Complete at least 200 credited HLL games and accumulate at least 100 verified hours in qualifying in-game leadership roles such as Squad Leader, Tank Commander, Logistics Officer, Commander, and other HLL roles formally verified by the battalion as leadership roles. Both requirements must be satisfied.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 30
Recruiting Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes Soldiers who actively contribute to the growth of the battalion by bringing qualified new members into the organization.
HOW EARNED
Receive recruiting credit for 3 applicants who successfully complete the recruiting process and become active battalion personnel. A referral alone does not count; the applicant must be approved, processed into the battalion, and credited to the referring member.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 35
Server Seeding Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes Soldiers who contribute directly to the growth and readiness of the battalion by helping establish and populate the unit's game server during low-population periods.
HOW EARNED
Accumulate qualifying server seeding time while actively connected to the 1/5 Cavalry server every day from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Eastern, with an additional Saturday and Sunday cycle from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Eastern. Credit is recorded automatically while live server population is below 50 players, pauses at 50 or more, and resumes if population drops below 50 during an active seeding window.
AUTOMATIC PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 36
Armor Service Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes Soldiers who demonstrate sustained service and battlefield experience as members of an armored crew. The Armor Service Ribbon represents time spent operating and fighting alongside fellow crewmen in the battalion's armored forces.
HOW EARNED
Complete 20 verified hours while serving as a Crewman or Tank Commander, participate in 30 completed games while serving in either armored role, and contribute to the destruction of 150 enemy vehicles while operating as part of an armored crew. All qualifying activity must be recorded through official server statistics.
AUTOMATIC PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 37
Jungle Warfare Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes Soldiers who have demonstrated sustained combat effectiveness and battlefield versatility in jungle warfare conditions. The Jungle Warfare Ribbon reflects extended time in the field, combat participation, movement across the battlefield, and experience in essential infantry roles.
HOW EARNED
Earn 200 kilometers traveled on foot, 500 kilometers traveled in vehicles, and 750 infantry kills. In addition, complete at least 3 verified hours in each of the following roles: Squad Leader, Medic, Machine Gunner, Specialist, and Rifleman. All qualifying activity must be recorded through official server statistics.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 40
Combat Infantry Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes exceptional sustained combat participation and long-term field service with the battalion.
HOW EARNED
Complete 200 HLL games that are verified and credited as Operations by the battalion tracking system. Reaching 200 Operations does not automatically award the ribbon. The Soldier becomes eligible for Command review, and Battalion Command must write and file a citation before the decoration is entered into the permanent 201 File.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 50
Campaign Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes participation in a designated battalion campaign consisting of multiple operations or events conducted toward a common operational objective.
HOW EARNED
Meet the participation requirement established for a specific battalion campaign. Headquarters publishes the qualifying campaign dates and required number of Operations or events. Once the campaign requirement is met, eligible members receive the ribbon for that campaign.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 60
Good Conduct Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes sustained dependable service, participation, and good standing within the battalion over an extended period.
HOW EARNED
Complete 90 qualifying active-service days in good standing. The Soldier must remain an active member and avoid administrative status that suspends service credit. Eligibility is based on the official personnel record and qualifying service days recorded by the Website.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 70
Tour of Duty Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes the completion of a substantial period of active service with the battalion and consistent participation throughout that tour.
HOW EARNED
Complete at least 180 qualifying service days and receive credit for at least 20 official combat operations during that period. Both requirements must be satisfied, and the member must remain in qualifying active status for service-day credit to continue accumulating.
COMMAND-REVIEWED PROGRESSION AWARDPRECEDENCE 80
Military Service Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes members of the battalion who have served, or are currently serving, in the armed forces outside of the gaming community.
HOW EARNED
Provide private verification of current or prior real-world military service to authorized Battalion Headquarters staff. Once service has been verified, Command may award the ribbon. Military documentation is never displayed publicly on the Website.
COMMEMORATIVE RIBBONPRECEDENCE 85
First Wave Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
For the ones who were there when Update 1.5 hit.
The First Wave Ribbon recognizes 1/5 Cav members who jumped on with the unit and put boots in the jungle on September 16 for the release of Update 1.5. No special event. No mandatory formation. No bullshit.
HOW EARNED
Play on either server on September 16, 2026 with members of the 5th cav.
COMMAND AWARDPRECEDENCE 90
Unit Citation Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes Soldiers who were members of a formation cited by Headquarters for exceptional collective performance during a specific operation, campaign, or period of service.
HOW EARNED
Headquarters must formally approve a Unit Citation for a qualifying Company, Platoon, Squad, or other formation. A Soldier must have participated in the cited action or qualifying period to receive the ribbon; membership in the unit alone does not automatically qualify a Soldier who did not participate.
COMMAND AWARDPRECEDENCE 100
Combat Action Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes an individual Soldier for distinguished performance, initiative, or exceptional conduct during an official combat operation.
HOW EARNED
A Soldier must be formally recommended following a qualifying combat operation. Command reviews the circumstances and approves or denies the recommendation. The ribbon is based on demonstrated performance and contribution to the unit, not solely on kills, score, or other game statistics.
COMMAND AWARDPRECEDENCE 110
Meritorious Service Ribbon
RECOGNIZES
Recognizes exceptional service to the battalion that significantly exceeds the normal expectations of a member's assigned duties.
HOW EARNED
A Soldier must receive a formal recommendation describing the service performed. Examples may include exceptional administration, training support, recruiting efforts, event organization, technical support, sustained leadership, or another major contribution to the battalion. Final approval rests with authorized Command staff.
